We’re excited to invite you to a special opportunity for fellowship and connection through our upcoming Lake Houston Methodist Church Cottage Meetings—small, informal gatherings in the homes of fellow church members across different neighborhoods.
These meetings are a chance to:
Meet and connect with members in your neighborhood area
Ask any questions you may have about our local church, the Global Methodist Church, or any of our outreach ministries.
Hear directly from Pastor Russell, Pastor David, and members of our One Board about what God is doing in and through our church family.
Each meeting will be relaxed, personal, and open for dialogue. Whether you’ve been part of our church for years or have just recently joined, your presence and voice matter.
Here are the locations and dates for signup. Please email the host family in advance to confirm your attendance, so we can obtain an accurate count of attendees.
If you are unable to attend a meeting held in your neighborhood area, we are also holding makeup meetings at the church, so feel free to sign up for that one as well.

If possible, try to attend the meeting scheduled for your neighborhood area. The most important thing, though, is to participate in a meeting, so if another location fits your time schedule better, then RSVP to that one.
We hope everyone can attend. Please sign up for a cottage meeting by emailing your RSVP to:

Amanda Flowers – amandaflowers0@gmail.com
Rita Binns – rbinns18@gmail.com

Everyone will have the opportunity to ask questions about anything related to our church or the Global Methodist. If you desire, you can write your questions down on a slip of paper when you arrive and have them asked anonymously.
We look forward to our Cottage meetings as an opportunity to continue seeking God’s direction for building our church's vision and mission.
Sincerely,
Terry Buckner

Lake Houston Methodist Church is entering a season of intentional prayer, reflection, and vision. Beginning in August 2025 and continuing through Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, we are committing ourselves to seek God’s direction for the next chapter of our church’s life and ministry.
In the coming weeks, many of you will gather in homes across our church family for Cottage Meetings—sharing your hopes, concerns, and dreams for our future. These gatherings will mark the beginning of a Spirit-led process of listening together for where God is leading us, and preparing to align our ministries and mission accordingly.
This is not just a leadership exercise—it is a church-wide journey of spiritual discernment. Every voice matters. Every prayer matters.
As we move toward a renewed vision to be revealed by Easter 2026, we invite every person in our church family to stay engaged and participate fully in the steps ahead. Inside this brochure outlines the full timeline and opportunities for involvement. Please read it prayerfully, share it with others, and join us on the journey.
Over the next few weeks, small groups will meet in homes across our church family to pray, reflect, and speak about their perception of the needs and direction of our church. These cottage meetings will allow us to hear the heartbeat of the congregation. You may have received an email however you can also visit our website to find a cottage meeting in your neighborhood.
On this Sunday evening, we will share the key themes and insights from the Cottage Meetings. The service will include testimonies, a recap message, and a printed summary. This moment helps the entire church hear what was shared across the different homes, forming a unified starting point for discernment.
To widen the conversation, we will invite every member and regular attender to complete a survey. The survey will clarify emerging themes, gather feedback on ministry direction, and offer space for new insights. It will be offered digitally and in print.
This will be a worship-filled evening of Scripture, reflection, and prayer. The tone will be quiet, reverent, and open—a sacred pause in the middle of the journey. We will bring our hopes and questions to God and listen in return.
Our leadership will gather for a focused retreat to reflect on everything that has been shared and begin drafting the shape of our church’s next season of ministry. This is a strategic planning day anchored in prayer. The output will be a vision and a mission statement that is agreed upon by the clergy and the lay leadership.
Following the retreat, our leadership will begin reviewing and aligning systems, roles, and structures. This period allows time for the behind-the-scenes work necessary to live out the vision in real ways and to create the ministry and programs that fully fit within the new vision and mission that LHMC is embracing.
We will take a step back from the vision and mission implementation planning process during December to honor the Advent season. The focus during this time will be on worship, celebration, and preparation for Christ’s coming.
Through a four-week sermon and Spirit-led series, we will reveal the key themes, ministry focuses, and structural shifts for our church moving forward. This will be a time of clarity, celebration, and accepting the shared calling. Worship, testimonies, and group guides will help bring the vision to life.
During this two-week period, church members will be invited to take next steps: joining teams, deepening prayer, serving in new ways, and embracing what the Lord is calling us to be doing. This is when we shift from hearing the vision to living it.
On Easter Sunday, we will celebrate the resurrection of Christ and the launch of LHMC’s renewed vision. This will be our “Go Forth” moment—commissioning our church to boldly live out the mission God has given us.
